Disney - May 2009

Last weekend we went to Walt Disney World. He seemed to have a good time. He got to ride his first roller coaster, if he was scared it didn't manifest itself like it did on other rides. He did not like Pirates of the Caribean or Its a Bugs Life. He seemed to enjoy The Little Mermaid once he realized that just because it is dark, doesn't mean it is scary. He really liked it when the bubbles came down. He loved the characters as well. Before we left he wasn't saying Mickey or Minnie, but by the time he left he was; well kind of, he says Mickey and Mimi.

It is hard to believe that Austin is almost 2. I think he is going to be an academic, he already knows the alphabet and can count to 10. Additionally, he knows all of his letters and numbers by sight. The only one he won't say is W, I can't say I blame him. Who was the genius that decided a letter pronunciation should have three syllables? He sees letters in objects that weren't intended to be letters. Sticks, spaghetti, Grammie's purse strap...the list goes on. What can I say, the boy is obsessed. I think he is going to be one of those know-it-all kids in school, you know the one that shouts out all the answers and the teacher has to ask them to give the other kids a chance. His vocabulary has increased tremendously as well. He also loves books. He can pretty much recite Goodnight Moon now. Needless to say, we read that one a lot. He also likes 'No No Noah', he asks for that one a good bit too.

Thank you for the updates. Looks like Austin loved Disney. Maybe someday we can go with you.
